AT USONIA HOUSE we're bringing back the Usonian idea: a slice of land and opportunity for all. We design custom homes and everything around them. Cabins, ADUs, small offices, garden buildings, even furniture, all delivered as complete drawing sets that builders can actually price and build from.

A house that arrives on a truck
First model of the Usonia modular series
The Prairie House is prefabricated. Wall panels, floor units and roof units are built indoors in a controlled shop, then hauled to your land on semi trailers. Every single component is drawn to fit on a standard flatbed, which is what lets it reach a site at the end of a two track road.
Because the shell is assembled rather than improvised, a small team of general laborers can stand a whole rough framed cabin up in a matter of days. Pre construction and modularity are what make it affordable. The design is still yours, still custom.
Twelve hundred square feet under one slope of roof. Three bedrooms laid out for three beds, two full baths, and an unfinished basement across the whole footprint that walks out when the site falls away. Version 1 of many.

What is “Usonia”?
Usonia is a term used by late-1800s authors and architects for the midwestern United States and its people. It captures the essence of rural America: the working relationship between nature, people, and the built landscape. Vast prairies, rolling hills, freedom, and a lifestyle tied to the seasons. That's the tradition we build in.
